Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 21, 2015 4:40 pm Hi, Wondering if someone might give me some ideas. I am about to lay a floating floor in a room that has bi-fold doors. I have removed the carpet and have realised that there are 2 hinge/pivots on the bi-folds that I will need to cover. My initial thoughts were to route a recess in the bottom of the board to clear the hinge brackets and drill a clearance hole for the pin. I would also need to hack the bottom of the aluminium edging strip to do the same, also with a clearance hole through the top. (the hinges are right on the edge of the transition from this flooring to another type of flooring.) But, I have just realised that the pivot on one side is a too high and this wont work. I really don't want to relocate, move the pivot. Does anyone have any suggestions for what I can do? Edit: Should have mentioned. The existing flooring the other side of the laminate is Sandstone tiles. The new laminate flooring is 12mm (Embelton Long boards, if it matters). I was planning on using a 14mm U channel in the doorway.
