Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Sep 05, 2015 8:27 pm So we have finally got around to underpinning our house. Next job is to sort the floor. The lounge has a floor that comprises 2 sections. It runs a total length of around 8m, and there is a total drop of around 50mm. Most of the drop occurs over around 2m of that length, somewhere around the middle. Question is, does this need to be fixed? I have a few ideas which will solve some of the problem but not all. So how much slope is acceptable, and how much is not noticeable, and what types of timber flooring are best at covering up any remains slope? The option to completely fix the sub floor to be perfectly level is a big and expensive job so I think a compromise is required. I suppose floor levelling compound is an option.
