We are getting to the end of our new home build. Anyone advise what goes in first - carpets or engineered timber? Carpet people are saying they install after timber flooring and timber flooring people are saying carpets go in first!

We were told by the place that did ours (they did both timber and carpets) that the timber needs to go in first.
Something to do with the doorway joins...

When we had ours done, the timber went in first. There's a lot of dust created from cutting boards, quad and fitting them under doorway skirtings....and you don't want that through your new carpet!
