Hi forumers,
DH and I have decided to go with vinyl planks in our new build. We were in Choices Flooring yesterday looking at all the different vinyl options (looselay, click together, glued). It was confusing trying to work out which was the best way to go, so we decided we'd choose the colour/texture we liked the best and go from there.
The product we ended up upon (purely because we liked the colour most) was Genero Design. I'd never heard of this brand before and the sales rep told us it's their own brand; produced by Polyflor then they stick their badge on it.
We were wrapped that this product was in our budget (just) and loved everything about it except.......the wear layer. The wear layer on this product is only 0.2mm. Most others I've read about have about 0.5mm.
I've read that the wear layer is the most important part when choosing a vinyl floor product. I understand that you should get the best wear layer you can, but I'm also wondering (hoping) if realistically 0.2mm is still reasonable layer for a residential property? We only have 3 people in our house, no young children, but we do have 1 cat.
Has anyone else heard of this product? or know much more about wear layers?
