All Things Flloring!

Hello,

This weekend we are going to have a look at flooring. We are supplying and arranging installation of flooring ourselves, rather than going through the builder.

We have decided on carpet in bedrooms and wooden look flooring everywhere else (apart from tiles in wet areas).

Wooden flooring - should we go laminate or bamboo? What are advantages / disadvantages? We have dogs so want something pretty scratch resistant

Any advice on what to look out for or what to avoid would be appreciated.

We don't have a massive budget, but want something that's going to wear well and look / feel luxurious
Wood floors are definitely not scratch resistant if you mean surface scratches. Michelle has a thread for your questions, from memory it's called "I work at Carpet Court.." There are also other threads detailing the info you seek.
With dogs inside I would definitely go vinyl plank. The colours are amazing and virtually undetectable from real wood. It's also so hard wearing. Unless you need solar gain, which means I would then use tiles in living areas.
