Do have any pictures with these flooring? I also need help with carpet selections. We are currently looking for a loop pile in wool or wool blend. I currently like the Hycraft - Valley Gorge in Rift. Do you think it matches with the timber flooring and our paint colours - walls: Dulux Grey Pebble Half and trims: Dulux Natural White. Would be happy for any carpet suggestions. The carpet also needs to match our wet area tiles, which are a light to mid - grey colour. Thank you! Hi Michelle, Would love your help with my post above. The other carpet we are looking at is the Windsor Wool - River Retreat in colour Element (2252). Here is a picture of the two carpets (Valley Gorge top and bottom is River Retreat) against the spotted gum and grey tile: http://wp.me/a553Vw-3k Please let me know which carpet you think will look the nicest against the spotted gum, tile and paint colours. How would you rate these against brands such as Karndean, Mflor, Amtico etc? Thanks Re: I work at Carpet Court - do you have a flooring question 226Jul 05, 2015 10:51 am Hi Michelle So good of you to offer advice to those of us stumbling our way through building & renovating. Flooring - We are doing our floor after handover & we are pretty sold on the quick step largo laminate for downstairs. We have 4 kids & a dog so am hoping this will put up with the wear & tear but husband is VERY concerned about the water issue - we were told we shouldn't even wet mop it - only dry mop with some special laminate mop?? I have also looked at the Provincial Oak laminate and really like the colour. Do you know if there is a quality difference between quick step or provincial oak? Carpets - we are planning on getting SDN for stairs & top floor. Was told Godfrey Hirst Eco+ range was all the rage now but on coming home & researching I have read many bed reviews of how it has flattened after just 2 years. It feels soft but doesn't really feel to dense, if that makes sense. Was kinda hoping for a carpet that will look good for around 10 years? Any ideas/advice would be very appreciated. Thank you. I have also looked at the Provincial Oak laminate and really like the colour. Do you know if there is a quality difference between quick step or provincial oak? All laminates should be treated the same, no matter who's brand it is. They are very water resident, but won't cope with too much excess water all the time. Follow these rules and your floor will last a long time! Carpets - we are planning on getting SDN for stairs & top floor. YES...I'm still not convinced on the soft carpets Try to pick a pile that is short and dense, forget soft.....go for sturdy. I disagree that dirt or sand will collect into the grooves, that's what everyone asks about them. A good vacuum once a week will get anything out of the grooves, they aren't that deep. Have you looked at the Colonial range in the Quickstep? Have a peep..... We are fairly set on the timber laminate name Arthouse Flooring- Desert Oak Maxi (plank size 1820x190x12.3mm) but are still deciding on the carpet. We are looking between Cat 2 and Cat 3 carpet. The are circled in red is where we are planning on putting the timber laminate. Everywhere else apart from the wet areas will have carpet. Below are the carpets we liked. Cat 2- Enforcer 4m-5800 Brushwood 100% Polpropylene With the pattern and twist ply makes it harder wearing but not as plush, but we would upgrade the underlay too if we went this way http://i1358.photobucket.com/albums/q779/Luke_Surtees/House/20150720_123125_zps1b740frb.jpg Cat 2 pattern and cat 3(Solace Taupe 35 gauge I think) this is more plush/softer just not sure how it will hold up against the kids http://i1358.photobucket.com/albums/q779/Luke_Surtees/House/20150720_123632_zpsxpxlvndh.jpg We also like the dark little square as something different this is also CAT 3 http://i1358.photobucket.com/albums/q779/Luke_Surtees/House/20150720_122950_zpsemesh2fm.jpg The browns tend to flow on from the floor board where as the dark creates a good contrast. What are you thought? Plush v hard wearing, colours? Any know issues with the laminate? If we go cat 3 is it worth upgrading the underlay too? I hope that makes sense thank you Our Build Thread - JG king Memphis Re: I work at Carpet Court - do you have a flooring question 233Jul 28, 2015 6:06 pm The browns tend to flow on from the floor board where as the dark creates a good contrast. What are you thought? I would be looking at the wall colours as well while choosing the carpet. I prefer a slightly darker carpet while there are children, animals and husbands. Plush v hard wearing, colours? Hard wearing always over soft for me....especial a plush, you need to spend good money on a plush so it stands up. While the kids are little, go hard wearing. Any know issues with the laminate? Don't know the Laminate brand, but if its 12mm, that's a great start! If we go cat 3 is it worth upgrading the underlay too? Its always worth upgrading your underlay, it will help your carpet last longer. I hope this has helped. Good luck with your build, have fun!! And I'd have to agree about the husband crack....(but I'm not quite as messy as the kids...) We are still to do wall colours/kitchen and will balance the flooring on that. The feed back on the carpet is what I was thinking hard over plush although I do like the idea of plush. The sales guy at Delta was very helpful and said the laminate was pretty good/hard wearing it comes with a 15 year warranty so hopefully it will be good. Do you know if that Godfrey carpet Enforcer 4m-5800 Brushwood is good or what hard wearing carpet would you recommend?
