Re: I work at Carpet Court - do you have a flooring question 148Mar 02, 2015 7:10 pm Lost a photo in the workings!! How about a nice grey tone in your floating floor and white bedside tables. I love the last photo with the pics sitting on top of the bedhead. You can Blutack them into place. Get new curtains to match the bedhead. Fabric is amazing these days. You have so much room in your bedroom, try an Ottoman at the end of your bed as well for dressing in the morning. http://i1235.photobucket.com/albums/ff440/Nicholl72/RIMG0253.jpg Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Internal and External Building and Colour Consultant Online - Worldwide http://www.denovoconcepts.com Re: I work at Carpet Court - do you have a flooring question 149Mar 06, 2015 8:28 am Hi I have calculated we need 96.5sqm or 26.4 (27?) lineal metres/broadlooms for our build based on our house plan. That includes a tolerance of 10%, is this too high? I just found that rec on a carpet website Room dimensions BED 1 4.2 x 3.8 BED 1 WIR 4.2 x 1.5 BED 2 3.8 x 3.8 BED 3 3.6 x 3.6 (hm did I use 3.8 here by mistake? I know.. dredging the Smartstrand up again.. I read on Choice that wool blend sometimes means its not as stain resistant and better to go with either wool or solution dyed nylon as the quality in the wool blends aren't as good. What do you think? Can someone recommend a good quality product and underlay for bedroom/living rooms? Toying around with onlinecarpet.com.au - good on stains - soft underfeet - suitable for a contemporary custom build home (with a baby!) Tip for you Leksie5000 - because of your room sizes I would look at a 4mt wide carpet, less joins. 80/20 wool mix is great, the 20% nylon helps to give extra strength to the carpet. But, all the 4mt wide's are 100% wool, which is also a good carpet. Let me stress.....soft is NOT always best. Carpet for stairs - I would avoid soft. $260 a L/m should get you a good quality carpet, stair rated. Look for a tight loop carpet, this will hold up to wear and tear on the stairs. Upgrade your underlay for the stairs only. Good luck with your build and have fun! I'd like to have a look before I sign contracts to get a rough idea or ranges and prices. Thanks Hi Firstbuild92, we in Nowra do not have that carpet, you would need to ring around and check with your local Carpet Court stores to see if they have it. Its not a name I know, so NOT in our core range. Could you please advise whether it looks grey when laid. Could you please advise whether there is a tinge of green or yellow in it. I am after a warm grey. An alternative is Hycraft Strand in the Shakespeare colour. I can't find any info on the density of the wool carpets. Is one better than the other? They are similar in colour and texture however the design of the texture is different. Which one is more classic and won't date as easily? If you can recommend another carpet along the same lines and colour I'd appreciate it. In terms of underlay is there a minimum quality you'd recommend for the first floor? Is Stepmax enough or should I be looking at a better product? Thank you! Our Phoenix Build: http://ourphoenixbuild.wordpress.com/ Thanks mate. Yeah good points!
