What would you recommend for a bedroom floor? Bedroom only with timber? You're not going anywhere else with it?? You can have either timber or laminate, depends on you. Vinyl could be a nice option as well. On my website I'm putting together a flooding blog, I'm hoping to fill it with lots of info as I find the time. Keep watching, your welcome to hop in and ask a question anytime you want. Toying around with onlinecarpet.com.au - good on stains - soft underfeet - suitable for a contemporary custom build home (with a baby!) Tip for you Leksie5000 - because of your room sizes I would look at a 4mt wide carpet, less joins. 80/20 wool mix is great, the 20% nylon helps to give extra strength to the carpet. But, all the 4mt wide's are 100% wool, which is also a good carpet. Let me stress.....soft is NOT always best. Carpet for stairs - I would avoid soft. $260 a L/m should get you a good quality carpet, stair rated. Look for a tight loop carpet, this will hold up to wear and tear on the stairs. Upgrade your underlay for the stairs only. Good luck with your build and have fun! I'd like to have a look before I sign contracts to get a rough idea or ranges and prices. Thanks Hi Firstbuild92, we in Nowra do not have that carpet, you would need to ring around and check with your local Carpet Court stores to see if they have it. Its not a name I know, so NOT in our core range. Could you please advise whether it looks grey when laid. Could you please advise whether there is a tinge of green or yellow in it. I am after a warm grey. An alternative is Hycraft Strand in the Shakespeare colour. I can't find any info on the density of the wool carpets. Is one better than the other? They are similar in colour and texture however the design of the texture is different. Which one is more classic and won't date as easily? If you can recommend another carpet along the same lines and colour I'd appreciate it. In terms of underlay is there a minimum quality you'd recommend for the first floor? Is Stepmax enough or should I be looking at a better product? Thank you! Our Phoenix Build: http://ourphoenixbuild.wordpress.com/ Thanks mate. Yeah good points!
