Tiles in wet areas will be done by builders. I found TFO is very reasonable for 600mm porcelian tiles but tilers are very expensive so I am considering bamboo flooring across house, NO CARPET at all. How much have yo got the tilers down to ? I heard you can find them from $35-$40 onwards. How will you treat any water spills especially in the Kitchen ? Water is not good for bamboo. We are not doing full bamboo for the same reason. I know you have decided putting bamboo flooring by your self. Are you in building industry ? No, but I have installed laminate before. Hence I thought I could give it a go. Who is your bamboo supplier and how much it cost you? I haven't decided on a supplier yet, but the cheapest quote I have got so far is from floorboardsonline.com.au. Very god price on the Verdura, which we will be going for. What about skirting ? Will it be done before flooring or after ? If before then will be only nailed or permatenately fixed? I can pay $500 to my builder and they will come back later and fix the skirting and paint it as well, if I am doing tiles post handover. For this amount I could also raise the door height to 35mm if I wanted to, from the standard 28mm. This is to cater for porcelain tiles. Bamboo flooring requires 16 mm finished floor so I may not require raising kitchen and benchtop heaight. Yeah, for bamboo, you do not need to raise kitchen benchtop height. It should be 900mm finished. So make sure your builder installs kitchen benchtop at a height of 916mm. Hi, have purchased a house with 2 single garage doors. The Centre pillar one side sits proud to the other. Can I change 2 doors into one.
