Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 12, 2014 12:48 pm Hi there, I am a new member. I have been doing some research as we are installing a new laminate floor in an open-plan kitchen/living, and I am intrigued about the newer waterproof flooring options. My local flooring xtra has a product called Aquadrop. Has anyone used this product? I am looking to find reviews on installation and durability. I have also been recommended Quickstep Colonial or Eligna, but I realise they are HDF not PVC. I don't anticipate masses of water on the floor, but I am still nervous about installing laminate in a kitchen area. Thanks! Re: Aquadrop or waterproof laminate - any reviews? 2Jun 13, 2014 4:09 pm Hi Neala_m, I work for Carpet Court, we sell a product called Lignafied Flooring. Its totally waterproof, made from stone and looks like a timber plank. Its an excellent product if you have an open plan living that flows out to a alfresco area, its not totally UV proof. But if the alfresco is covered and doesn't get a lot of sun it should be fine. I'll post a photo when I get home tonight, I can't do it from work. Think I've spelt it wrong....but pretty much how it is pronounced. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ This photo shows pieces sitting in water they have been in that water for 6 months. The only time you will have an issue with laminate is if a tap breaks and the boards get totally soaked in water. Every day spills are NOT an issue, just bend over and wipe them up as soon as you spill something. My local CC didn't suggest it, (not sure if they stock it) and recommended the Quickstep eligna, so I decided to look elsewhere. Still thinking the Aquadrop and I are meant to be!
