You should follow the advice given by the manufacturer of your carpets, which will be along the same lines as the Aust Standard 3733:1995. The fact is, uprights are more aggressive and effective at removing embedded soil. However, a dense pile carpet that holds the soil mostly near the top and is vacuumed regularly with a standard vacuum will still be OK. Constantly vaccing with an upright may well be overkill, and hasten wear of some carpets. Avoid regular vaccing of loop pile wool carpets with uprights. The Standard actually advises against uprights with loop pile carpets. Ash. Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7255 1 10974 1 15707 |
