Just doing some homework in regards to colour schemes before we visit studio m to make our final choices for our first house! To those who have hogs bristle full strength or half on their walls, which floor tiles did you go with? I'm thinking a lighter floor tile will look quite effective but am open to other options! Thanks in advance Re: Floor tiles to go with hogs bristle half walls 2Jun 09, 2014 6:48 pm Hi:-) Just saw your post, just thought I'd say what floor tile I'm going for as we'll also have walls in full hog bristle. We've chosen (for all of the main floor living), a tile called Drift Sand in a 50x50 available at Beaumont's. We're going to have the same in the wet areas except they will be a 30x30 size tile. I love the warmth of hog bristle, am thinking of doing trims and doors etc in Antique white USA. The tile, Drift Sand has a lovely natural look to it, you don't have to lay it a certain way (it doesn't clash which ever way you lay it) and it doesn't have too much warmth to it (like terracotta). Please see tile pic below; http://postimage.org/ What tile did you end up choosing? Any pics of your walls/floor if you have built already? Can I ask, if you went with Hog Bristle on the walls, what did you have on trim, doors etc? Thanks Re: Floor tiles to go with hogs bristle half walls 3Jun 10, 2014 7:16 pm Hi, we ended up going with a Dulux colour called Grand Piano. The reason is our builder didn't offer Hogs Bristle in our range. We are very happy with our decision though as we were able to see a wall of Grand piano which was offered in our range and loved it! We chose Dulux Natural White ceilings and trimmings. Our tiles are Beaumont Vibe Beige. We went with very neutral walls, floors etc to really make our dark benchtop and furnishings pop!! If we had of gone with Hogs Bristle I would have definitely gone with something like Antique White USA to add contrast but to keep those lovely warm tones going. Unfortunately no pics yet - our land is yet to title so might be a while!! Re: Floor tiles to go with hogs bristle half walls 4Jul 03, 2014 9:32 pm Hi Sorry for not replying sooner!! We've are and have been right in the middle of our selections time with the builder so it's been a bit full on. I love the colour Grand Piano, that was my other choice if we didn't go with Hog Bristle. Your colour tones all sound lovely:-) Glad to hear that you think AW USA will go ok with Hog Bristle. Can I ask, what kitchen benchtop are you going to go with? We had our hopes on a real timber bench top but found out yesterday it would cost more then 6k so we have since decided to opt for a wood look laminate. We can replace it down the track if we really feel the need;). I worried about the laminate looking fake (if that makes sense!) but I have seen a nice example, as soon as you go into the Duropal website for laminate http://www.duropal.com.au/. it's the first image with the plate of salad sitting on it. When you say land is yet to title, was it part of a subdivision? Re: Floor tiles to go with hogs bristle half walls 5Jul 15, 2014 11:25 am @ Frenchie - post the pic direct here. When I click on your link Please see tile pic below; http://postimage.org/ I get a page from there asking what picture do I want to upload. Stewie Re: Floor tiles to go with hogs bristle half walls 6Jul 21, 2014 1:28 pm Hi Stewie D, Sorry my pic wasn't added properly! here is the tile we chose for all main flooring (smaller version for wet areas). http://postimg.org/image/klv573y8h/ Also just selected this tile for our porch, love it. Would have chosen this one for our main floor but we wanted a more subtle tile inside. Will use this tile eventually for our alfresco area too. http://postimg.org/image/k8mm5la4t/ They make the room much easier to clean for one, reflect more light (if light colour tiles are used), and you dont end up with dust on the top edge of tiles (cause most… 3 9611 To put anything over slate you will need to put self level compound over the entire area as slate various in thickness and is very un even.
