Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Feb 05, 2014 11:35 pm We are looking at purchasing a house that currently has slate floors of around 200m2 and if we go ahead with the purchase we would look at replacing the slate with either porcelain tiles or carpet (room dependant). I have no idea as to the best approach to do either and are also trying to work out what I could be up for just to prep the floors (remove or leave and screed over the slate). Any advice or rough prices per square metre would be greatly appreciated. The two extremes if you like)......Whilst we do not do it, most of our flooring franchisees will be able to assist you with a contact in your local area. Covering over the old floor will cost similar, so it's better to not create height issues and simply get the subfloor back to its original state. Factor this into the purchase price, together with the pricing of a new floor (this we can assist you with also) and you'll be fine to make an informed decision.
