Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 May 17, 2008 1:56 pm heading in the direction of floating floors in a new property for the living/kitchen level.
this level is currently carpeted and a small amount of laminate flooring in the kitchen area. my problem is i HATE those half round edges that finishes where the flooring meets the skirting board. the way to solve it is obviously remove the skirting, would the tradesman that does the floor install remove the skirtings or would i have to arrange this prior to work commencing and have re-installed pre-paint & decorate? thanks in advance. Re: lamintate flooring finish. 2May 17, 2008 7:53 pm This depends on who does the floor.
Some will take them off for you, you will have to check with the company you choose if they will or won’t remove and replace the skirting for you. The funny round edged thing is called Scotia. I agree with you, it looks awful! We had to remove a small amount when we moved in because our fridge wouldn't fit into the cavity in the kitchen and we ended up ripping the bottom of the wall off.
