Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Dec 27, 2013 7:41 pm Hi I've been doing some research and been looking at floor places (need to get to Harvey Norman too based on the research done here thus far). I'm after a rustic old world timber look floor. I really love the Preference wide oak engineered floors at around $85 - $90 per sq m. And have looked at some bamboo options (but haven't found one I liked). Today I saw a nice Laminate option Eligna Wide which looked great and at around $37.50 psqm seemed like a much more prudent / cost conscious option! The salesperson was telling us we can't really compare the products as they are different (not that I disagree but we're plebs and don't really care as long as it works and looks good)... But then on this forum it seems like I need to check out the Kardean Vinyl plank range (do these tend to have the timber look on them?) and then I came across the HN Vintage option which look great in the pics! So the question is... what other rustic timber looking floors should I be looking at/investigating? TIA Re: Rustic timber look flooring 2Dec 27, 2013 8:03 pm There are some good rustic-looking timber-look tiles. You just need to hunt around. I had a scary incident at a friends place in winter and our feet almost froze off. since then I've had a bit of an aversion to tiles So timber, engineered timber, laminate, bamboo or vinyl planks is what the options seem to be boiling down to. Timber - oak or blackbutt or recycled something Engineered timber - wide Preference Oak Bamboo -- I can't find one I like yet Laminate - Quickstep / Eligna Wide or the HN Vintage (still need to view). Parador also look like they have some interesting ones. Vinyl planks - Karndean (still need to view) Re: Rustic timber look flooring 6Jan 02, 2014 9:45 am @AltonaMan I think there are a few people on this forum who have used Parador (which is why I have heard of them) I have now looked at the Harvey Norman range and like a couple of the types of floors, the vintage is good as is the vinyl option. But I want to make some savings so probably will stick to the laminate options. I'm also getting some samples sent to me from Lion King flooring (Sydney based) who have helped us with a previous set of floors (laminate) and were very very economical. We were very happy with the product although this time we're looking for something more rustic and matt finish so need some samples beyond what they show on the web page/s. Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15884 Interested in getting either the Polytec Boston Oak or Palace Peak for kitchen cabinets. Looking at the Boston Oak ones, it appears that the colour varies significantly… 0 9151 No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11568 |
