Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Nov 15, 2013 9:34 am I dont want this to turn in to a debate over timber vs bamboo but my wife and I happy to listen to suggestion on each. We don't like the 'feel' of engineered timber so the choice is either a full timber board or 14mm+ solid bamboo floor. If we go Bamboo it will be one of the thick carbonised ones. I've lived with spotted Gum floors or 8 odd years and like them except for the red adn pink tones in some boards. My wife and I both like we medium to dark brown or even chocolate colour for the flooring and having a hard time finding a timber board that does have this colour tone but without the pink and or red tones as well. So in short please suggest (pictures are great too) us a medium to dark brown or chocolate timber floor. If you have details of the company that supplied it would be great too. Thanks Martin Re: recommend us a Timber floor or Bamboo 2Nov 15, 2013 9:52 am ARC Bamboo is fantastic... My dad has just done his first level with it. 14mm thick, strand woven and great quality. He did use a champagne colour, but there were a lot of different choices. We are going with ARC Australiana. My husband liked the Java colour in the ARC range, which is a dark chocolate colour, but it didnt tie in with our other choices unfortunately. Its really hard wearing, environmentally sustainable, still thick & "woody" - in fact the installers need diamond blades when cutting/trimming the boards because they are just that strong! I love timber as well, and really it just was the fact they were a tiny bit cheaper, offered the same thickness and durability, no hollow sound like laminate and of course were an environmentally sustainable choice... Without seeing, i am ignoring… 1 3276 Thank you. Do I use timber floorboards for stairs or do people use timber treads? Or is both the same? 6 7271 |
