Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Sep 20, 2013 11:54 am Hello, I'm currently researching the different types of flooring (I'm looking to do 2 rooms only), but I got lots of different and sometimes conflicting information regarding the pros and cons of each type of flooring from google. I have a list of criteria (in order of preference) for the type of attributes that are desirable: 1. Long lasting 2. Low maintenance 3. Quiet 4. Durable (e.g. preferably scratch resistant) 5. Preferably not prohibitively expensive Thanks very much! Re: recommended flooring (timber, floating, bamboo, etc) 3Sep 20, 2013 7:48 pm A high quality laminate floor with a minimum of AC4 scratch resistance, a high density core and a decent underlay will be the most likely option to tick the boxes These days the better end laminate floors are almost indistinguishable from the real thing. But I'm not sure… 3 6163 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15923 Thanks, that's the motivation I needed to give it a try sooner rather than one day! 4 3012 |
