Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Aug 23, 2013 8:44 pm I'm in the process of choosing a tile for the ground floor of my home. I've been to a variety of tiling companies and they all say that the most popular at the moment is polished porcelain. The problem with that is the it's proneness to slipping. All of the sales people have said to avoid polished porcelain in bathrooms due to the high possibility of injuries but I've already tiled the bathrooms. There's a whole open area which is to be tiled and I'm not sure whether there will be hazards with polished porcelain since water can trigger slips but I'm worried that matte may cause the house to lose elegance. There's also a semi-polished porcelain? I'm not sure about that since the styles and colours are limited. Does anyone have experiences they can share or opinions?
Thanks for taking your time to read this. Re: Tiling- Which is a better idea? 2Aug 23, 2013 9:15 pm We are having semi polished porcelain tiles in our en-suite and family bathroom. Will still look elegant but you don't have to worry about the slipperiness issue. However, I think I have seen bathrooms with polished tiles on the floors so some people do it and so perhaps slipperiness is not that much of an issue. Just use a nice big bath mat! also I have seen some matt floor tiles in bathrooms of high end display homes and they still look fantastic but each to their own. brokers will also be in a position to get you a better rate than the advertised rate most times. 6 7588 Bigger the better for storage for me IMO.
