Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jun 19, 2013 12:40 am Hi, We've decided to go for a floating bamboo floor for the main parts of our house. I think it looks great and because it's a click system it's relatively easy to lay DIY. I've laid a few square rooms in the past but now I'm not sure where to start for our house. We'll need to cover the entry, living room and to hallways. Simplified, they form a 'H' shape in which the floor boards will be laid horizontally. My concern now is, how do I start at two points at the same time and make sure they meet up nicely where they join, and how can I ensure the horizontal '---' part of the 'H' is parallel to the walls? I would prefer if I could start in the middle and work my way up and down the 'H' but I'm not sure that's possible. Any suggestions how I can make it nice? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Building with Redink in Madeley WA Photos: http://s1244.photobucket.com/user/takat ... yHouse2012 Moved in 01/06/2013 Next project: Lanscaping Re: How to lay bamboo flooring - H shape 2Jun 19, 2013 5:23 am You need to sit down with your retailer and go over your plans and discuss these things. I agree that starting from one place would be right, but how do you do it in this situation? I need to build from both legs of the H as they're on the same side of the floor boards. I guess I'll just have to work neatly enough to arrive in the middle from both legs. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Building with Redink in Madeley WA Photos: http://s1244.photobucket.com/user/takat ... yHouse2012 Moved in 01/06/2013 Next project: Lanscaping Re: How to lay bamboo flooring - H shape 6Jun 25, 2013 7:02 pm IF I understand the plan correctly, build both the 'legs' of the 'H' up to the cross part, then run a line of full planks from one 'leg' to meet up with the other one. And adjust that line of planks to click into it. That is if the planks are running across the 'legs' of the H. This assumes that both starting points are clicked into planks that run between the legs along the bottom of the 'H'. A better picture/idea of the plan would be a great help. 1000000% definitely add insulation. I have in my home and it makes a big difference minimising sound transfer.
