Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 May 12, 2013 9:35 pm Today we went to a shop to have a look at Jarrah, $60/sm for the pre-finished ones, but we have to install for both 85mm and 90mm wide ones, and the 90mm is longer. It is because only a limited stock. We plan to put the 85mm in closed rooms and put the 90mm in living areas. Is it strange to do that? And he told me there were two types of batten I could choose, 18mm thick one ($5) and 20.5mm thick one ($10). The $10 one is much heavier and solid. He recommended us to use the $10 one since the quality. Is the quality of batten making much difference on Jarrah? Thanks heaps. Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 11480 The most likely cause of your timber swelling (parquetry?) is either a plumbing leak or carelessly leaving water on floors after use or both.
