Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 22, 2008 3:03 pm We were given a quote of approx $13k for the standard floor tiling to the ff. areas:
- entry through to kitchen - kitchen - dining and family room This is based on the standard range tiles for M's Signature houses. But we upgraded our floor tiles (to 450mm x 450mm porcelain tiles) to all wet areas, so that quote would definitely increase. So during contract signing, we removed the floor tiling to those areas. Now, we're at brick stage, we're thinking of asking our builder to do our tiling to those areas. Our reasons for a sudden change of mind were: - worried that the floor tiles to Entry area through to kitchen won't align with the floor tiles that M would do at powder and laundry areas - grout colour might not match What are your thoughts on this? Our other option is to have M do the Kitchen floor tiling and choose timber floors for the rest of the areas (so no more issue with tiles not aligning and difference in grout colour). But... we really like to have porcelain tiles to the ground floor (except HT and study areas). I'm not even sure whether M would still allow us to add this to our contract... but if it would be better to have them do the rest of the floor tiling, then we'll try to ask them. Would greatly appreciate your opinion. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping!
