Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 16, 2012 10:49 am Hi everyone! after some inspiration for my strand woven bamboo flooring. I was certain on Natural but have seen some great colours making it hard to choose! If anyone can give some suggestions that would be great, we have antique white usa walls and a lot natural colours. Here are some colours I like: Carbonised Natural Lime Wash Coffee Re: Show me your Bamboo floors! 2Mar 16, 2012 1:38 pm We'll be installing our bamboo floors in the next week! We've settled on ARC Bamboo Brushed Mocha - slightly darker than Distressed Brown Sugar but lighter than Distressed Walnut (re: Homemirus Verdura brand). We had our hard set on Brown Sugar for a long time but then saw ARC Bamboo and fell in love with the darker, richer tones. I've already lectured my wife about cleaning, mopping, dust, footprint smudges etc.. but she's up for the challenge! I'll let you know her thoughts in a months time hehe Once we've finished the floors, I'll be sure to post a pic! We're going for dark floors, white 90mm colonial architraves/skirting, a light grey Dulux paint for walls and switching our kitchen doors to a French provincial style Re: Show me your Bamboo floors! 4Mar 16, 2012 3:43 pm My personal preference is natural, followed by coffee . "Whoever says sunshine brings happiness has never danced in the rain!" Re: Show me your Bamboo floors! 5Mar 17, 2012 7:19 pm OMG Cenz! I could have written your post. We too have our heart set on dark bamboo flooring with big white architraves and skirting with possibly a light grey on the walls (although it is a little tricky to find just the right shade) with shaker style kitchen cabinetry ala French Provincial. You have great taste Nice to see someone else doing something similar. We are building with a project builder and we are getting a few strange glances when we talk about subway tiling instead of glass splashback and shaker cabinetry, it is quite different from their display homes and is proving challenging. Perhaps you too have been looking at blogger sites such as A-M and Georgica Pond for inspiration as they have this style. Anyway while we want bamboo flooring we are a little turned off by the smudgy feet marks that others talk about as I know it will drive me mad. Re: Show me your Bamboo floors! 8Mar 31, 2012 7:23 am We went with Royalty Timber Flooring on Windsor Rd, Baulkham Hills. Price installed was $89sqm for ARC Brushed Mocha Bamboo including 90mm white primed timber colonial skirting. Was an absolute steal at this price, the guys there are very competitive and lovely to deal with. They're installing our floors as I type this post on my iPad. I think it's time I got out of their hair and onto mowing the lawn... boo! Will post pics tomorrow once complete. It's already looking amazing Re: Show me your Bamboo floors! 9Apr 01, 2012 10:21 am Hi Cenz, got any pictures yet? We've been quoted $64sqm fully installed for strand woven coffee bamboo. It does sounds too good to be true however we know a few people who have used the company. Re: Show me your Bamboo floors! 10Apr 01, 2012 7:01 pm Hi All,
We have had Strandwoven Bamboo from Arrowsun (http://www.arrowsun.com.au) installed in our new house only this week, and are very very happy so far! We didn't want one "even" colour like a lot of the bamboo colours we had seen, and the company we went with had an option called Beechwood which ticked all our boxes Photos are attached as the floors speak themselves! Re: Show me your Bamboo floors! 12Apr 02, 2012 9:21 am Finally found some time to upload some pics!! We've just bought out solid wooden table (made from an old boat) as well as some white wishbone chairs and barstools - he place is finally starting to come together I'll be starting a 'Renovation' post soon and will upload all pics and what's been done/plans. Just to recap, this is ARC Bamboo in Brushed Mocha installed by Royal Timber Flooring. They don't stock ARC but I got them to get it in as they only supply Homemirus (Verdura) and OzBamboo. Verdura is the original and best Brown Sugar/Walnut series that all other suppliers have managed to copy (although fail to replicate exactly). We decided on the ARC Mocha as it was darker than Brown Sugar but lighter than Walnut. It looks so rich and classy but not too dark. Once the downlights are on or sun coming in, it gives an awesome timber look. Fantastic product and install, we're stoked to say the least!!! It may appear reddish in some pics, but it isn't.. must be the flash (it's a deep and rich brown) Re: Show me your Bamboo floors! 14Apr 03, 2012 9:41 am sco77k Looks amazing cenz! Did they install it floating on top of the tiles or glue it down? Do they creak at all? Thanks! Yeah, floating on tiles. They put down a black plastic sheet (kind've like garbage bag) for a moisture barrier, then they put a 3mm underlay which also has a moisture barrier (looks like foil). So the tiles, plus the plastic and 3mm underlay moisture barrier will hopefully knock out any issues ARC Bamboo is UNICLIC so it's well joint together and no creaking. There is however a slight sound of crackling from the foil in the underlay, but we were told that will disappear as we continue to walk over all areas of the laid floor. So, returning the favour, here are 2 pix of our Bamboo floor - Verdura Coffee - which may help others decide whether they like or dislike this particular look. (Very difficult to get correct colouring due to lighting, but these are very accurate. South facing window btw.) cheers Re: Show me your Bamboo floors! 19Oct 25, 2012 7:51 am Bamboo floors in the hallway of my current house. Now with bonus puppy. Personally, in my own house if I had to do it again and was looking at options, I'd get timber look tiles. Building a Delta 21 at Craigieburn - http://homeofzero.blogspot.com.au/ Deposit: 26/02. It's Embleton and the colour is Uluru. Absolutely love it, although I do admit they get quite smudgey, as people have mentioned above. http://i1071.photobucket.com/albums/u509/kjw7/DDC05C7D-51A7-43B9-A6ED-1389F28BA1EA-2754-000004010507F22F.jpg http://i1071.photobucket.com/albums/u509/kjw7/31A7AAB9-CF62-4D3C-80D3-B55712389BDB-2754-00000400F56F225C.jpg http://i1071.photobucket.com/albums/u509/kjw7/4FF458E1-5F23-4152-A539-3723C1EE5754-818-0000020D45BD4AC9.jpg Kayla 3 6049 Old Home Restoration / Renovation To reduce noise transfer without compromising the aesthetic of your exposed I beams, consider filling the 100mm gap between the I beams and the floor above with dense,… 6 11090 Sorry, don't know costs, but there are a couple of very important principles you need to get right (and now) ....
