Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Feb 22, 2013 1:57 pm Hi all, looking for advice from someone knowledgable... My ground floor apartment has floorboards, there's about 50cm to 1 metre of space beneath them, and then it's just exposed earth and dirt. Humidity was an issue, but I have sub floor ventilation etc. Some humidity does still come into the apartment. My question is this - if I lay carpet over the floor boards will I be stopping the flow of air through the floor boards? Will the carpet end up ruined in just a couple of years? Many thanks Andy got it. thanks. I was looking for word ' Adobe' and added filter. all good. 12 12979 CDC Housing Code 3 When to apply Floor Area external face of wall vs Gross Floor Area internal face of wall.
