Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Feb 06, 2013 9:53 pm Hi guys! I really love the look of classic black and white checkered tiles and was thinking of having them in the bathrooms and laundry room. I'm concerned though that they'll look ridiculous. I'd keep the bathrooms rather pared down and stick to mostly whites with maybe a splash of minty turquoise to keep them from looking cluttered if I did get them. What do you guys think? It's a classic combination and probably a lot cheaper than B/W hex or octo tile if the prices I've been seeing are anything to go by Re: Checkered tiles 3Feb 11, 2013 8:14 pm Thank you for taking your time to give me your opinion! I'm glad to hear im not the only one who doesn't think it's a bad idea !! I haven't even been to any colour showrooms yet so I am VERY scared of what different options are going to cost! Lol! Sounds a bit scary! HD Re: Checkered tiles 4Feb 12, 2013 6:08 am We are almost certainly going to use b/w checker tiling in our ensuite (to match with the black and white roll-top slipper bath). Love the look of them if you're trying to go a more federation or traditional style. But, I far prefer them layed @45° for some reason, not straight along the walls like in the bathroom pic you put up. So I say go for it if its going to suit the style of the rooms. 2 Re: Checkered tiles 5Feb 12, 2013 10:08 am seano We are almost certainly going to use b/w checker tiling in our ensuite (to match with the black and white roll-top slipper bath). They're going to look fantastic with your bath!! For some reason I haven't even considered a rolltop slipper, they are gorgeous I know what you mean! Having them tiled at an angle gives a more sophisticated and less kitschy feel I think I'll definitely go with em I think they'll give a new house some much needed character HD Firstly the ableflex that has been installed needs (manufactures specification) a sealant cap over the top, preventing water draining down between the slab and the… 3 7744 Our house was completed 8 years ago.
