Hi we are looking at installing a laminate floor over tiles that unfortunately skirt up the wall. Tiles up wall are glued onto a cement render and from what I've read sound like a bugger to get off. I'm thinking putting some type of wood skirting over the tiles would be the best option but after laying laminate etc. it would still need to be around 160mm high. The tile also does not sit flush with wall, comes out around 5mm.
So I guess my questions are:
1. Is there a suitable skirting for this project ie. one high enough.
2. Do any come with a nose that would cover top of tile protruding or could we get a thin piece of wood to sit flush between top of skirting and wall?
3. If such a skirting or other option exists how would we attach it to the tiled/cement rendered wall?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Kim.
