Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Feb 01, 2013 9:22 am We currently have vinyl planks in our home and was wondering if anyone knew if the new Karndean Loose Lay vinyl planks could be installed over the top of the old planks. Its a large area and would be a massive job to pull up all the old flooring + floor prep. Re: Karndean Loose Lay Vinyl 2Feb 03, 2013 12:46 pm The sales guy I spoke to about Karndean Loose Lay Vinyl said it could be installed over ceramic tiles without any floor prep, concrete, floor boards etc, so I'd assume it would be fine over existing vinyl as long as it was fairly sound (ie no big holes etc). Has anyone heard of loose lay vinyl with aluminium oxide in the protective layer? One sales man recommended Kenbrock to us over Karndean for glue on stuff, as the Kenbrock has aluminium oxide in the coating and would stand up to wear and sunshine better. Any advice? Re: Karndean Loose Lay Vinyl 3May 20, 2013 3:11 pm Ive had a quote for $60 per sqm supplied and laid. Thats including glue down. Its an extra $9 per sqm if the floor needs to be levelled and skinned. This was from Solomons. Are there any other recommended Karndean suppliers+layers? A Sabco spin mop, minimal moisture, not very regularly.
