Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jan 13, 2013 11:21 am Hi all, half my house has floorboards with a nice, warm honey hue and semi-gloss finish (or maybe gloss which has aged). They would have been done in the early 1960s, so does anyone know what products were used for floorboards during that time? I want to sand and finish the other half of the house to match, and not sure if the honey colour is a stain with clear over the top, or just the result of the clear finish itself - last time I used varnish on furniture it did change the colour of the timber to a warmer, slightly deeper colour.
