Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Nov 21, 2012 3:31 pm Hi all, we have had the incorrect carpet laid in our new house. They have told us the one that is laid, which is Braewood Warmstone. We can't find this anywhere, but it is apparently better than the carpet we chose. Has anyone heard of it? If we want to go with the carpet we chose, we have to wait until February, instead of December. It's apparently a category 6 whilst what we chose was category 4, but I am unsure of this and would like to check it out for myself. Thanks in advance, Ainslee Re: Incorrect carpet laid 2Nov 21, 2012 6:04 pm Hi Ainslee, The law is very clear on this one. You are entitled to exactly what you ordered and it must be the same as the sample you chose from. Clear cut. In reference to categories....they must mean the ACCS star ratings. Otherwise it's a made up category (ie an internal marketing decision). Regardless of the fact that the replacement carpet they substituted is better (if it actually is), your legal right is to have what you ordered. So in a nut shell, simply make a personal decision on what you want and advise them of the same. Its no ones decision but yours so don't be bullied into something you don't want It doesn't sound like one of our carpets or like the philosophy we have so we will leave the advice here for you to take with you. Best of luck. For more information on your rights, simply visit the ACCC website or contact your state based consumer affairs.
