Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 05, 2008 8:57 pm um this may be another dumb question but if I wanted
to have a matching wood to my blackbutt floors for balustrade handrail, a display box and a cabinet which wood can anyone suggest thats closest to blackbutt? or can you actually buy blackbutt itself to make those things Re: wood closest to NSW blackbutt for handrail & cabinet? 2Apr 08, 2008 1:59 pm We are planning on using Blackbutt feature grade timber upstairs with Ceramic Tiles downstairs. We have taken the maple staircase timber which we will stain to match the Blackbutt to best extent possible..
we were told by Clarendon's staircase contractor that this will come out acceptable. The Blackbutt option for the staircase was $8000 and this option was $4000 stained and finished.. I really don't see how they justify the massive price difference seeing as the material isn't double the price.
Blackbutt is one of the most plentiful commercial hardwoods so you will have no problems getting it miled into handrail/balustrading - we do it at work quite regulary. We are tossing up between a Jarrahdale radiant wood fire (the Pioneer) and a convection wood fire (Innovator or Countryman) but cannot decide on which type of wood fire is… 0 5250 yeah i couldnt picture it issue either, but i could clearly picture what they were doing wrong haha 2 5294 |
