I have been trying to find out a few things before it is sanded and finished as we can still make a few choices at this stage. Is Souther Beech and Australian Beech the same timber? Can the Southern Beech be stained to darken it's colour before it is sealed and would this still look OK? What would people recommend as the best type of finish coating? Why?
