Hi guys I'm new to this forum (well I have been reading these posts for years but never logged on) and need some help.
I had one of the staff come out to our home as we are renovating, she measured up the rooms and placed on the invoice for "Riveria range" Colour to be selected.
Been paying it off in installments over the year and we decided to knock one of the walls out. So I called and found out the lovely lady who was helping me out went on maternity Leave so I had the "Manager" [edit] say he would remeasure for us.
I also seen the "range" from Riveria in the store and did not like it at all. [edit] said if I picked one out, he would bring that out when he remeasured.
As never given a sample from day 1, I knew it would be a couple of weeks before he would be able to come out as he said he was busy teaching new staff around the two stores he had. Once that was sorted he would come out.
So I said I was happy to pay more money, Picked out the quick step Natural Varnished Oak and another staff member placed it on the original invoice ready for [edit] to bring out.
Weeks passed and didnt have a sample, [edit] came out, remeasured and I asked if he brought out the samples, all were to beech or red tones and asked if he had more which he brought out the two.
Still had the gut feeling and asked again, is this all you have? he responded yes, so I picked one out, and he didnt write the entire information on the invoice.
The installers came weeks later and when they placed the first one in, I said that was the wrong one as it looked too "red toned" he said "yep that's the right one" and proceded. I again, asked him to stop, i pulled my paperwork out and he still said it was the right one. Not happy my partner thought i was just being irritating and took me out for breakkie and said to let them install the floors.
When we got back they finished and I still had that gut feeling it was the wrong one.
So the next day I called the installer and he persisted to tell me it was the right one and if i had a problem only the manager could help me (that was [edit]).
I called [edit] and he responded "Ally you ready to get your floors installed?" , um no I responded, "it is already installed and still think it is the wrong flooring installed" ..... he went quiet.
He kept telling me he has been flat out busy teaching new staff at gepps cross and Parafield and promised to sort it out and call me back at 9am the next day.........,...he didn't.......... and then wouldn't answer or respond to calls.
Then I remembered I had the staff member place what I wanted on the invoice so I called the installer and she happily gave me the information....... Natural Varnished Oak ( which was the quick step range)....... What they placed on my floors was a cheap Riveria Range called natural Oak. Two seperate types.
Devastated I called Consumer affairs, they said to write a letter give them seven days to respond and ask for the floors to be changed.......7 days..... then they placed return to sender. I sent an email, no response. I called Consumer affairs and made a claim, She also sent them a letter and waitied for a response to resolve the matter...... 7 days return to sender.
What do I do now?
My case manager said I have a good case to claim and she also sent an email, they don't respond to any of our calls,I have a floor down I do not like a paid good money, so upset
I know another person has posted the same problem awhile back on this site and don't know if they got the floor they wanted
