Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Sep 16, 2012 7:36 pm I have just had my solid timber floor which is in blackbutt layed. I am after a clear natural finish, and hoping someone could give me some advise as to the name of some finishes, and what you would recommend. Thanks for your help. Adrian Re: timber flooring finish - blackbutt 2Sep 16, 2012 10:10 pm We used a product made by Lobadur and have been extrememly happy with the result (now 2 years on). Lobadur Prima Seal and Lobadur WS Easy Finish were used (3 coats in total). It's described as a satin finish, so pretty natural looking, not glossy. They make a whole range of floor finishes. We thought we were getting Lobadur WS 2k Duo in semi gloss, but turned out to be the above. I am thankful for the satin finish as scratches are barely noticeable. Lighter timber simply looks better with a satin or low gloss. They're already light enough, high gloss reflects too much light. On the other hand, I've seen Jarah, Blue Gum and Brushbox (especially) in high gloss that looked fantastic. I think you chose well. Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15884 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 9559 4 14400 |
