Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Aug 27, 2012 9:48 am I am about planning to remove the carpet from a large back room in my house and lay floating floor. On one wall in this room the windows go right to the floor. In the middle of this wall is a glass sliding door. How do if finish my boards against the aluminium frames that are at floor level? There are no skirting boards here. Could I use some sort of aluminium trim? How would I attach it? Glue it on after the boards are down? That all seems logical to me but I wonder if there is a better or more correct way? Re: Floating Floorboards against aluminium 2Aug 28, 2012 5:02 am Look up AFS / QEP or search for Roberts trims. That's the brand they have. AFS are a larger sized company who supply the majority of the flooring industry in Vic & Nsw with trims and tools. They do sell direct to the public and have distribution points all around the place. The trim you want comes in silver of bronze and is made to fit an 8mm floor, a 12mm floor and a 14mm floor. They are called names like C channel, end trim, senior end / mid end / junior end (depending on its height). But I'm not sure… 3 6164 |
