Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Aug 12, 2012 10:02 pm I am having a sewing / craft room in our new build and are after some advice on flooring. I will use the room most days and normally standing for a couple of hours at a time. What would be the best option to help my legs & back? I still need to be able to chase DD around when I'm not in there Due to the ease of cleaning tiles, laminate, vinyl etc I'm not considering carpet. Thanks in advance ETA - I also have an 11 year old border collie x who thinks she is 1 so I need to take her in to consideration. A PVC floor may be less harsh in terms of standing for long periods, however a good quality laminate floor will be more scratch resistant for your dog belting around, so..... We would recocmend a good pair of shoes / slippers and go for the laminate then you get best of both worlds Check out the "Vintage" thread here on H1. It's an awesome looking floor. It should withstand you dog no worries. We've had vinyl in our old house for many years and it has been hard wearing and very easy to keep clean. I've seen some with thick cushioned backing so I imagine there would be some "give" underfoot. Just a thought. Re: Hard Flooring advice please 5Aug 18, 2012 1:06 pm I hadn't though about vinyl. I suppose most of the ones I have seen have been too thin and I thought they would be too hard when standing for a long time. I might look in to it a bit more.
