I am a new member in need of advice.
Currently our kitchen has matt, very porous tiles extending partially into the family room which is carpeted (and needs an urgent replace).
We want to replace the tiles (which I hate with a passion!!) and carpet with new glazed tiles and unify kitchen/family room. Gives me the opportunity to also renovate whole kitchen and install a large island bench . Same tiles flow into the dining room AND the hall to front door.
What's the BEST way to achieve this. Do we jackhammer or whatever existing tiles (have no idea of how they glued or whatever them to the floor, nor do I know the quality of slab or how even it is) and then lay the new tiles. We will get a tiler to do that but I am happy to do the prep (removal of tiles) myself if I can save some dollars
