Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering Re: (AC) Wear rating on Allure Aspen or Laneway Vinyl planks 2Jul 27, 2012 6:16 pm They don't have AC ratings as they are PVC floors, not laminate floors. The Allure Lock is a .5mm Commercial Heavy Duty click plank and can be used immediately. It has a lifetime wear warranty when installed in a residential situation. Can't speak for the Laneway one, as we don't sell it so we cannot comment, sorry. Allure Lock is a high spec product though. Regarded worldwide as the best clicking PVC plank by Unilin, the main licensing company behind the clicking patent. This author has been in the industry for 20 years and has never once heard of a wear issue on PVC flooring. In America, one version of Allure is only .1mm (the wear layer) and that still is fine, so the .5mm commercial grade is fine for the heaviest of wearing situations in a home. I went into HN yesterday to check out the product ... have a sample sitting on my floor now ... wife absolutely loves it. I was thinking of going laminate ... but now seriously considering Allure mainly because we 1) have a dog (still a puppy) so he is wee on the floor, 2) we are clean freaks so vacume every night and steam mop every other. (so being waterproof has won the argument) The consultant did give us a very competitive price on another kind of vinyl ... it was superseeded by Allure ... its a beech plank .. 1-2mm thick and has to be stuck on with glue.... but since I am laying over timber flooring ... I am kinda wary about taking this offer. Re: (AC) Wear rating on Allure Aspen or Laneway Vinyl planks 6Aug 19, 2012 3:52 pm I see that the Big Supermarkets are using vinyl planks in Fruit & Vege sections & possibly other areas which backs up what HN has stated. I would think you would be replacing a .5mm wearlayer plank because the boss wants a new look, not because of the product wearing out.
