Steveo, just wondering what you think about Beaulieu carpet? It's a solution dyed nylon called Augustus Lane and it's a loop or cut and loop (sorry) $157pm (we need 57lm) which includes ultimate underlay and labour - breakdown is $110pm carpet $25pm underlay and $22pm labour plus $200 for the stairs. Thanks for your help

although i dont know that exact carpet, my experience with beaulieu carpets are good ! for the money they are, they are really good hard wearing products. when i go into the shop tomorow ill have a look for that carpet and let you know more !
As for the cost breakdown, if you wanted to save some money id be looking at the dunlop excellay over the ultimate. ultimate is a great product but its very $$ and more suited to big thick carpets ! Excellay is thinner but still niec and dense. Id guess you will save $10 a metre going to excellay!
the labour charges seem right, anywhere between $18 - 22 a metre for laying, with around $5 a step on top of that.
