Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jul 16, 2012 1:48 pm Hi All, I'm currently in the tender process with Allworth homes to build a "Wakefield 35" and I have seen the spotted gum engineered flooring in their "Panorama" display home in HomeWorld V in Kellyville. I need to quote up provisional pricing for around 100sqm's of spotted gum engineered flooring just like whats on display in Kellyville because my wife and I really love the flooring. Anyone able to give suggestions for a good company to go with? A company that will do a good job and not cost me my first born? Any help much appreciated! Cheers! Re: Floating Timber - Spotted Gum Engineered - PRICING??? 2Jul 16, 2012 5:14 pm Hi, i'd probably get the second born ready for shipping out as well. I can only give you an idea based on what I paid. I have 2 board spotted gum, I got it wholesale and laid it myself. Supply only with premium underlay was just over $100/m 3 years ago. Not really sure on laying but im guessing it would be at least $50-$60/m Cheers mgilla Re: Floating Timber - Spotted Gum Engineered - PRICING??? 3Jul 16, 2012 10:47 pm I got a price for Big River Spotted Gum Engineered Boards about 3 months ago for $185sqm installled . I just about fell off my chair. Our quotes for solid timber have come in less than that. Re: Floating Timber - Spotted Gum Engineered - PRICING??? 4Jul 17, 2012 2:54 am Some companies will quote you more for Engineered floors, just be careful. Spotted gum in hard wood is a much better look. We were quoted $17000 for engineered flooring supply and lay. We almost signed for this!! But luckily we went to a different company and they quoted us $23 000 for spotted gum hard wood floors for the same areas. (Supply and install) So for an extra $6000 we decided to go for real timber floors. Area size: 214sqm Re: Floating Timber - Spotted Gum Engineered - PRICING??? 5Jul 17, 2012 7:50 am I paid roughly $108 sqm laid for Silkwood Spotted Gum in my home 3 years ago. It was more expensive than my top quality wool/nylon carpet (Brintons), and certainly won't last the 30 years my carpet will. I'm not a huge fan of the surface coating and wish I had gone solid with gloss finish. I look at it and it dents/scratches. I've lived with solid boards for 12 years before and never had a problem. They have a sale on right now with the engineered spotted gum floating floors with underlay installed for $89.95 a sq metre. We're going to give these people a real decent look.. sounds promising! Thanks Simon, I guess I'm no concerned with the volume of the noise rather that dead and hollow sound and feel that is associated with floating floors. But I'm not sure… 3 6146 Engineering timber is certainly a less fuss option, times cheaper to supply and install and better withstands humidity. 1 15909 Thanks, that's the motivation I needed to give it a try sooner rather than one day! 4 3003 |
