Best way is to buy a long pin punch like this one. Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Get a good heavy hammer, and a pair of gloves, safety glasses and ear muffs, and go for it. You need to drive the nail down and straight through the floor board into the bearer below. Hard work, but very effective. Steve Re: pulling up floor boards 5Mar 20, 2008 9:20 pm Most floorboards (if that is the original floor) run underneath the wall frames, so you'll need to run a saw along the edge of the floor where the boards run perpendicular up against a wall.
We stripped the Jarrah floors out 2 demo-ready houses like this - punched the nails through as above, then ran the chainsaw down the edges. It is a room of 4m*5m. Take the skirting apart first. Then 3 people take the same row apart at the same time. The laminate flooring kept well and the process was very quick!
