Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 May 01, 2012 6:47 pm I have been been looking at bamboo floors. I like the hardness of it BUT I cannot find a colour I like. They are all too 'busy'. Too mush pattern in the bamboo. I like lighter shades. Can anyone recommend a brand of floating bamboo that it light and has minimal pattern in it? THanks Re: Non busy bamboo colour. light shade 2May 02, 2012 10:32 pm goga I have been been looking at bamboo floors. I like the hardness of it BUT I cannot find a colour I like. THanks Hi goga, By the sounds of it, you'll be after the natural colour. It's the lightest colour without going into the stained versions like the white bamboo. You will get variation in bamboo, just like any natural material so be mindful that even if the small sample you look at has no features or minimal features, the next plank or the next box may. If you must be fully in control of this aspect, you should consider a 100% "man made" floor such as a laminate floor as what you see is what you get in terms of pattern variation and feature levels. The grain patterns and line patterns on horizontal/vertical flooring are caused by the bamboo strips being compact together to form one floorboard. Compressed flooring is shredded, then compact into a giant press so it looks a lot more like Jarrah flooring and less like bamboo. Maybe this would suit you more?
