Take a look at the following link to see some of what's on offer. I know there are more out there now, but having used this brand I know what I am getting. I haven't done much research yet on the other types (house only just has slab down so have a way to go yet!) http://www.karndean.com.au/en-au/floors ... ink=ghfcta Slab Poured 30/05/12 Lower Floor Plate High 20/08/12 Upper Floor & Wall Framing 30/08/12 Roof 14/09/12 Lock-Up 13/12/12 Yee haaaaa WE ARE IN & I HAVE A NEW IPHONE Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 22Jun 14, 2012 5:42 am We use hardboard again now & their is an Australian made product on the market which is very good. Their is also Hardboard coming in from overseas. Oz made is the preferred option. Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 24Jul 13, 2012 12:35 pm megg Just a couple of photos to share of my new finished laundry, with vinyl plank flooring. love the floors megg. I'm looking into getting karndean in white washed oak so we can have 'wood' throughout the entire house! Can anyone tell me if kronotex products are good ?? I've got a quote for A5 12mm laminate 80sqm for $5,300 ... I've gone to three stores .. which sell krono original / kronotex / kronopol ... and after some searching .. they are all part of the krono group ... so are these basically the same product ??? I've also noticed many people recommend quick step ... which is not a brand I have come across as yet (or maybe I have and it got lost in the mass of information i'm trying to take on). Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 26Jan 08, 2015 11:34 am Bump, anyone got any recent experiences with Vinyl planks or Laminate flooring? My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74866 Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 27Jan 11, 2015 3:58 pm Excited_much Bump, anyone got any recent experiences with Vinyl planks or Laminate flooring? We have just laid loose lay vinyl planks in our kitchen. We have bamboo, tiles and carpet elsewhere in the house but I didn't want any of these in the kitchen (previously cork). So far we are very happy with them, but will see how they hold up after 6months, 12 months. We got different stories re loose lay planks from every shop we spoke to - you put some tacky stuff on all planks/edge planks/no planks, they will expand and shrink/they won't expand and shrink. So because they suited our purpose, and the area is less than 10sm we figured we'd give it a go. Won't lose much if they are a disaster. Husband laid it and the only time consuming bit is cutting around indents etc. It feels nice underfoot. We bought Decoria Kempas @ $535 delivered to NSW for 10.8sm (5 boxes) from Integra Floors in Qld. Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 28Mar 17, 2015 9:59 am I'm also deciding between laminate and vinyl for my main bedroom. From what i have been reading, its probably better to use the vinyl in the 'wet' areas and keep the laminate to the other rooms. I have been in contact with Harvey Norman (Gepps Cross), who are going to send me some suggestions on a laminate. Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 29Mar 23, 2015 3:05 pm I have chosen vinyl planks now Now the hard work of choosing a colour My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74866 Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 31Mar 23, 2015 4:38 pm Bedrooms, Living area's, kitchen and hallways Everything but the wet area's My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74866 Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 32Mar 23, 2015 4:59 pm out of interest, what vinyl flooring did you go for? I had a look at a few, even some more expensive types, and they all came across as very plastic like. Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 33Mar 23, 2015 5:24 pm Havnt decided yet, but its a choice between Karndean, Kenbrock, Polyflor and Genero. I'm not phased about the plasticness of it, its better than the noisy laminate and more waterproof. I have real hardwood flooring in my current house and love it, but its a satin finish and the Vinyl is going to be very different in my new house, but I like it, its the best option for my budget and situation. My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74866 Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 35Mar 23, 2015 5:45 pm No sorry havnt heard of them, but alot of flooring stores have their own brands made My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74866 Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 37Mar 24, 2015 9:42 am Karndean is a good quality brand. Ask what the product warranty and the install warranty is of the other brand compared to Karndean. Also is there a difference in wear layer? My Build: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=74866 Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank flooring 38Mar 24, 2015 1:43 pm Karndean has a wear layer of 0.55mm with a total thickness of 4.5mm. 15 year residential warranty. Godfrey Hirst at 0.5mm with a total thickness of 5.0mm. 25 year residential warranty. Pretty much the same really except for the longer warrantee for GH. Thanks Excited_much I guess I can't really go wrong with either with that warranty. Re: Specific questions around laminate and vinyl plank floor 39Mar 24, 2015 11:53 pm We are also looking at going with vinyl planks for a new place which we are building. We are currently deciding between Gerflor Creation Clic and Godfrey Hirst. Would love to hear peoples opinion on either of them.
