Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Apr 03, 2012 10:14 pm Just wondering if anybody else finds it strange that Carpet Call do not sell Bamboo flooring? Maybe it is just here in Queensland? Is it sold through their stores in other states? Our builder uses Carpet Call so it would have been a little easier to go through them but when we asked him about Bamboo he was quite insistent that the stuff was no good, they have had to rip too much of the stuff up and now they won't sell it and asked us to think strongly about not installing it. Not to be deterred, whilst checking out Andersens and Choices, Carpet Call was in the same homemaker centre so we stopped in there to again be told they don't sell it and again were warned about using it. Considering it seems from reading other posts on here that Bamboo is quite popular, does anyone find it odd that a major flooring retailer is refusing to sell it? Is it simply a case of the bamboo they WERE selling was an early inferior product and it is just a matter of time before they start selling it again? Bamboo sales are exploding all around the country and the quality is all over the place, so do be careful but by reading the forum and seeing what's happening you will be fine and make an informed decision. It is weird that they wouldn't embrace a quality bamboo. The bamboo market is very competitive and perhaps they haven't been able to find the right product at the right price.
