Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Mar 16, 2012 10:29 am Hi Guys - need some help quickly please. We have sold our house and moved into a rental which has Bamboo Floors - not the compressed ones - the soft ones. Can I use my Steam mop on them. I have searched and am getting conflicting info. Some say yes some no. I am hoping yes - I love my steam mop and really dont want to go back to normal mopping ( too much hard work) but I dont want to damage the floor either. At the moment I am using a normal squeeze mop but it is leaving streaks all over the floor. If anybody can give me some advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Re: Steam Mops and Bamboo Floors 2Mar 16, 2012 11:11 am The short answer is No. Never ever use a steam mop on a timber, laminate or bamboo floor. It injects water into the joins and will DESTROY your floor over time. Ignore the advertisements about them with timber floors.
