It is for a renovation and extension. In the existing part of the house we have baltic pine boards and the extension part will be on a concrete slab. One of the brands that I have looked at is the Hurford "Fourteen" product where the board is 14mm thick. I am interested in this product as they offer a wideboard of 130 and 180. I would be interested in hearing from people that have had this flooing installed - looking for good and bad experiences. In terms of species I quite like the grey ironbark or spotted gum. Thanks! The two things I would suggest need to be considered are largely for your installer. The sub-floor needs to be level. And the tongue and groove on the board needs to be treated with care during installation. I used a Grey Ironbark in my own house and it is a stunning timber. With those width boards the floor should be trowel glued (rather than just glue guns). Hi All.
