Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Feb 27, 2012 4:19 pm Hi, Our slab has been recently poured, and although it isn't polished yet, it doesn't look like the colour sample we choose. I understand it will get darker once the polish is applied, and have been assured that the colour is correct, but when I hold the samples (also unpolished) of the colour we choose by the edge of the slab, our slab matches a more yellow toned colour. I've been told that the edges do go a different colour to the middle so I'm just wondering if anyone else has experienced the slab looking completely wrong on the edges, but had it come up perfectly once polished? Just looking for some reassurance as the floor won't be polished until later next week and it's worrying me... Thanks in advance Re: Coloured Polished Concrete 3Mar 06, 2012 10:24 am Hi Jason, They delayed polishing to this week, although haven't heard from my builder to confirm so I am just about to chase it up. The concrete company apparently keep meticulous records and are certain it's the right colour. They say that quite often the colour at the edge differs. We are going to assess it during polishing, and if need be have the polisher apply a tint. So I really don't know. Will definitely update once I know. Cheers Re: Coloured Polished Concrete 4Mar 12, 2012 1:08 pm Polishing now set for this Wednesday..fingers crossed.... Re: Coloured Polished Concrete 5Mar 20, 2012 7:32 pm Quick update - Polishing is now complete, the colour is looking pretty good, and we are happy with it, nothing special had to be done either. To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9858 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10939 |
