Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Feb 23, 2012 11:14 am Hi all, We are extending and renovating a house in Glen Iris VIC and we were interested in Bamboo Flooring. We want to go with a glue down tongue and groove wide board (min 130mm) and was wondering if you can get these unfinished and have them stained and sealed after installation Does such a thing exist? I am also worried that an unfinshed board may be more susceptible to seeing scratches and absorption of moisture Comments and thoughts? Thanks! Also, the "staining" you talk about is not actually possible either, as the natural colour ranges of bamboo flooring are completely natural and actually have no colour or staining that occurs in the manufacturing process. You see, the colour of the bamboo flooring is dependent upon how long the bamboo has been treated for. The darker the colour the longer it has been treated. Unless of course you want bamboo flooring that has been stained, in which case it will most likely be more vibrant, say in the reds or blacks. If you don't mind me asking, why is it that you wish to do this? Is it because you are afraid of scratching and damaging that may occur during installation?
