Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jan 13, 2012 10:34 am Hi I'm very new to this forum and just want to ask some advise on Polished Concrete. We are owner builder and are mainly using friends to do a lot of the work so we've been taking things step by step and slowly. I guess this has allowed us to make decisions along the way as they arise.... but we've found out that certain decisions need to be made early before some other decisions are to be made in order to get what you want!!!!! Here is my dilemma....we are up to the flooring and my husband has been laying the hardwood flooring in the living and kitchen areas and I really want polished concrete in the bathroom and laundry! Of course I have found out since that it all should have been done at the slab stage!!! The wet areas have about a 45-50mm recess in the slab! My question is.... is it possible to pour concrete into the recess areas that then can be polished? Any advise would be much appreciated! My husband just thinks we should do the easy thing (of course) and lay tiles but i'm not a big fan of floor tiles! Cheers KJ The concreter will take and reuse. In my case I bought structural LVLs and scraped them back and used them as joists. 1 5152 DIY, Home Maintenance & Repair Are you doing this with a building permit?
