Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Jan 12, 2012 7:01 pm I'm after some advice - please help if you can! We need to choose flooring in our upcoming build and I'm really struggling on making a decision! I love the ultra modern look of tiles, but worry about grouting issues down the track. My husband wanted floorboards and we were leaning toward bamboo, but I'm a bit concerned after hearing people talk of how it tends to look 'smudgy' not long after a mop. I definately will not get around to mopping the floors every day! And then I stumbled across polished concrete as an option. What's thr feedback on polished concrete? Is it much colder than tiles? I'll admit I'm attracted to the fact that there sounds to be less maintenance than tiles and floorboards. Any advice? Building at The Ponds (NSW) in 2012! Re: Polished Concrete 2Jan 12, 2012 10:35 pm We are going with polished concrete flooring in our living area, from the research I have done it is cool in summer but cold in Winter however you can always get under floor heating. Not sure price wise how much this will set you back though. To my understanding early saw cuts are to control shrinkage cracks, so doing them now would be pointless. Control joints may reduce ugly cracking during periods of soil… 3 9862 Hi all I need a guidance on how far I need to space expansion joints in the concrete driveway and its type (keyway/foam.) Contraction joints are at 3m max for a 125 slab. Thanks 0 10941 |
