Browse Forums Flooring & Floor Covering 1 Feb 16, 2008 4:51 pm Today we found a place in Adelaide that sells end of line tiles at a very cheap price.
We had a quote for the tiles for our kitchen and one of the salespeople told us to try out this other place. We purchased tiles up to $20 per sqm cheaper than other suppliers . Good find. Recommend ppl shop around and see if you can get end of line prices for tiles rather than paying normal retail price. Same tiles, cheaper price. Re: tiles 3Feb 17, 2008 3:42 pm Hi DeeElle,
That sounds like a great saving! Where in Adelaide is it? So far we,ve only been to Beaumont,s and Italia Ceramics.... By the way, your house is looking great, you must be so excited! I can,t wait for ours to start....waiting .....waiting ! Cheers Mel Re: tiles 4Feb 17, 2008 4:01 pm melanie02 Hi DeeElle, That sounds like a great saving! Where in Adelaide is it? Cheers Mel Try Tile Square at Pooraka. Dont tell them I posted something about them tho' . Select your tiles then contact them to see if the have the same tile (use the tile code). Another tile place to try is Newton Ceramics (large display) and Tiles on Parade (smallish display but we found wet area floor tiles at a good price). Good luck Mel ... do you have a start date?? Re: tiles 5Feb 17, 2008 4:08 pm Thanks DeeElle ....we might try and get there next weekend and have a look.
No...we don,t have a start date yet. Still waiting on the engineers as they had to do a re-draw to comply with the encumbrancer (hopefully he will then approve the plans) and then it,s into council Who are you building with? We are building with Hickinbothams. Cheers Mel Re: tiles 6Feb 17, 2008 4:15 pm melanie02 Thanks DeeElle ....we might try and get there next weekend and have a look. It is also a good idea to find a tile you like then ask TS if they have it, as not all their tiles are on display. They have a massive warehouse out the back full of tiles and only display a certain amount I guess. We only asked if they had our preferred tile on the offchance that they had it, and they did . Newton ceramics have some very nice tiles I would definitely have a look at their display if you get a chance. I've heard good things about H! Looking forward to seeing your build progress. Where are you building??? Ask as many questions as you like re: Adelaide suppliers ... happy to respond. Re: tiles 7Feb 17, 2008 4:30 pm Thanks for that DeeElle,
That was so lucky that they had the tile that you wanted! We are building in the golf course estate in Mount Compass. It,s nice and quiet there and our block is on top of a hill,so we,ll have some good views as we,re building a 2 storey. We,ve met most of our neighbours and they all seem really nice. Where are you building? I love looking at everyone,s pics of their houses.....I might post some pics of our block if I manage to work out how to post them LOL... This is such a great forum and I,ve learnt so much here already! Cheers Mel Re: tiles 8Feb 17, 2008 6:04 pm melanie02 Thanks for that DeeElle, That was so lucky that they had the tile that you wanted! We are building in the golf course estate in Mount Compass. Cheers Mel Hi Mel I think they probably have most tiles that are available, you just have to ask. Mt Compass is very nice, I think we went to a wedding on the golf course several years ago. Great views. We are building at Mawson Lakes (Bridges). Views not terrific (although we get a nice view of surrounding hillside in distance) but amenities are excellent. Its easy posting pics ... check out photobucket.com ... there is also a sticky that will give you directions on how to use it. I'll have a look and post the link. Pics of your land would be great. . Have you started your selections yet? Don't worry you will get the hang of it soon enough and will have your own blog before you know it . This forum should come with a warning tho' .... its very addictive . Re: tiles 9Feb 17, 2008 6:07 pm Here's the link on posting your photos.

Thanks for the link! I,m using photobucket which was pretty easy, but even though I put descriptions of each photo on photobucket it hasn,t come out on here? Anyway... 1. Before we had the trees removed... 2. The back corner of the block... 3. The back of our block....hopefully,once we put the fence up we won ,t be able to see the houses behind us,just the nice view, especially from the top storey.... 4. David and I working on the shed (well I,m supervising!).... 5. View from the front of the block.... (the block is narrow at the front 14 metres and is 43 metres at the back... 6. The shed again (it,s a 20 x 30 shed)... And in answer to your question..yes we have done our selections,we were able to do them all on the one day at the one location which was great. Choosing our bathroom colours was the hardest It was a fun day and amazingly we prefered a lot of their standard range rather than the upgrades which was great! Although we upgraded tapware, paint (extra coat),we,ve got insulation everywhere and sizalation (hubby insisted on it!) ....we loved their standard kitchen although we have added quite a few overhead cupboards and a pot draw. What sort of airconditioning are you having? We are still trying to decide on that at the moment. At Mount Compass, heating is probably more of an issue than cooling and we love wood fires,we will have one of those downstairs... Sorry...I,m rambling on It,s just so exciting and I can,t wait until they start building Cheers Mel Re: tiles 12Feb 18, 2008 5:49 pm Is it Porcelain or normal ceramic tiles? I see some Porcelain tiles under $20/pm Re: tiles 13Feb 19, 2008 10:33 pm melanie02 Choosing our bathroom colours was the hardest It was a fun day and amazingly we prefered a lot of their standard range rather than the upgrades which was great! We hope we don't need to use the aircon too often and have installed comfort plus glass + sisalation and R3.5 in the ceiling and R2.5 in the wall cavity. House is made from Hebel. I can understand your excitement ... the block looks great and keep the photos coming. rldragon2003 Is it Porcelain or normal ceramic tiles? I see some Porcelain tiles under $20/pm We are purchasing porcelain tiles but they also have ceramic, marble, sandstone and travertine tiles.
