Our dining, kitchen, entry foyer and a hall is tiled and we are wanting to install bamboo flooring over the top rather then having to rip out the tiles. We are not concerned with the joins to bedrooms etc but is there any major reason not to do this? Has anyone done this and been happy with it? When we had a floating floor installed we had the tiles taken up first. It took them about half a day to do about 40m2. They put up plastic sheets but there was still a bit of dust. Hello Sco77k Yes it is possible to lay bamboo flooring over tiles, both floating and direct stick-glued down). If you are direct sticking then the surface of the tile, must be grind to remove any of the shine, this will make the glue stick a lot better.
